I have always had a passion for animals. My dream job growing up was to be a vet but as I aged, I discovered that my heart couldn’t handle dealing with injured/unwell animals every day. In 2015, I adopted my first dog, Lyla at the age of 12 weeks. I thought I had done tons of research and I thought I was prepared. Just like many other dog owners, I found myself confused about some of her behaviours. Why was she acting this way? I sought out some help from the dog training community and began basing my training around Positive Reinforcement. After I understood why certain behaviours were happening and how I could help Lyla, her behaviours began to change. My training styles are based around kindness, compassion and understanding. Training is a conversation between the handler and the dog, a partnership. We are working together to achieve a shared goal. I will take both parties (the dog and the handler’s) needs into consideration while formulating a training plan to help you and your partner on your path to success!
